India has knocked out England from the race of ICC World Test Championship finals which will be held in the month of June with their stupendous 10 wicket victory in the day & night test match in Ahmedabad which helped India to move up on the top spot of the Rankings.
India now have to either win or draw the fourth test match against England which will start from March 4 to secure a fixed spot in the finals of the World Test Championship which will be played at the Lord’s against the already qualified New Zealand squad. The Black Caps team are placed second in the latest list of rankings & are qualified for the finals of the WTC.
“England have dropped to 64.1 percentage points on the points table, which is now led by India with 71 percentage points,” the ICC stated. “England are out of the race for a place in the final of the ICC World Test Championship after losing the third Test against India in Ahmedabad,” it added.
England are now 2-1 in the four match test series against India whereas India needs to win the four match test series by 3-1 to play the World Test Championship finals in June starting from June 18 to June 22. If India lose the fourth & final test then Australia who is currently at third place with 69.2 percentage points will sneak into make the final. Before the thumping victory inside two days, India were placed second in the table.
