The members of the touring England cricket team have returned negative results from three COVID-19 tests conducted during their six day mandatory quarantine period & will start their first training session on Tuesday, three days before the opening test against India which will start on Friday.
Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer & Rory Burns who didn’t travel with the team to Sri Lanka for their previous tour completed their quarantine earlier in India & have already been training. “All PCR tests from yesterday’s test have returned negative results. The England party are now out of quarantine and will train for the first time as a full group at the stadium tomorrow afternoon 2pm-5pm (IST),” read an update from the England and Wales Cricket Board spokesperson.
The England squad had flown to Chennai from Sri Lanka on Wednesday after winning the test series by 2-0 in Sri Lanka. The four match test series against Virat Kohli is a bigger challenge for visitors team which last won in India in 2012 whereas India is already in form after beating Australia on their very own home ground twice in last three years.
