CSK’s top batsman Watson & Plessis led opened the ways for CSK’s spectacular win as both stitched an unbeaten partnership & helping their side to win the game without losing even a single wicket. Since last three games Watson was under pressure due to his poor form in the matches which was quite evident through his scores of 1, 14, 33 & 4 so far but finally he took an initiative in Sunday’s match & executed a perfect game with his bat which was never seen before even Plessis supported him to the fullest by playing full range of strokes & hitting power-pack shots when KXIP reduced fielding restrictions.
FAF Du Plessis smash Chris Jordan’s balls by hitting four fours in the sixth over as CSK finished the Power play at 60/0. KXIP’s captain KL Rahul tried all his might by trying all bowling options with pace & spin but couldn’t break the spectacular stand between two Lions as CSK reached 101/0 in just 10 overs.
Watson continued to smash KXIP with fours & sixes, he hit Jordan for four fours, smothered Ravi Bishnoi and hit Sheldon Cottrell for a straight six as he brought up his first 50 in IPL 2020 off just 31 balls. Du Plessis scored his fifty runs off 33 balls as CSK were left with only 29 runs to get in the last five overs. Du Plessis was successful in reaching the target by hitting one four & a six off Mohammed Shami in the 18th over.
