“We are pleased to inform you that the Royal Challengers Bangalore, opener batsman Devdutt Padikkal has joined the team on 7th April 2021 with negative reports for COVID-19 as per the BCCI protocols. RCB team was in constant touch with Devdutt to ensure his safety & well-being”, read the Official Press Statement by the RCB Management on Wednesday.
RCB took to twitter to share a video message from Devdutt Padikkal. In the video message, Padikkal thanked fans & supporters for their good wishes. Padikkal also said that he has tested negative for COVID-19 twice and is raring to play in IPL 2021.

“Bold Diaries: Devdutt Padikkal joins the RCB camp after testing negative for COVID-19. He’s healthy, feeling better and raring to go. Here’s a message to all RCB fans from Devdutt,” RCB tweeted.
“I would like everyone for their wishes and prayers. It really means a lot to me. As you know that I had tested positive two weeks back for COVID-19. As per the BCCI and IPL protocol, I had to quarantine at home for two weeks,” Padikkal said.

“But now I have joined the camp after two negative tests and I am feeling really fine now and I just can’t wait to get back out there and join the RCB camp,” he added.
RCB’s Daniel Sams Tests Positive for COVID-19!
Earlier on Wednesday, RCB suffered a blow ahead of their first match of the IPL 2021. RCB star player Daniel Sams has tested positive for COVID-19. Daniel Sams is currently in isolation & the RCB medical staff is in constant touch with the star all-rounder. RCB will kickstart their IPL Campaign against Mumbai Indians in Chennai on April 9.
