Former Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh have not taken Former India coach Greg Chappell comments very kindly. Greg Chappell in an online chat said that his challenge to MS Dhoni has laid the groundwork for the former India Captain to become one of the best cricket’s finishers. Further in the chat Greg Chappell said that in a match against Sri-Lanka he had aksed MS. Dhoni to play along the ground to see that if he could finish the game without taking unnecessary risks. Responding to the same story off-spinner Harbhajan Singh & tore controversial comment of former India Coach. “He asked Dhoni to play along the ground because coach was hitting everyone out the park. He was playing different games”, Harbhajan tweeted. He also used the hashtag “#worstdaysofindiancricketundergreg”.
Former India batsman Yuvraj Singh also jumped in the controversial conversation by writing “MSD & Yuvi no sixes in the last 10 play down the ground”, with a laughing emoji.
Greg Chappell said in online chat with the PlayWrite Foundation, “Now we talked about the fact that if he (Dhoni) could learn to hit the ball along the ground as well…even though he was good at hitting boundaries, it was still a high-risk way of playing. If he could take some of that risk out of it, he could become one of the best finishers in world cricket”.
He further said, “Somehow, you have to find the thrill of being the best finisher rather than one of the best hitters of boundaries and may be remembered for some more exciting innings because you could become the best finisher that the game has ever witnessed”, Greg Chappell said.
Greg Chappell’s tenure as the head of coach was not so good & ended after India’s first-round exit in the 2007 World Cup. Several players had indicated their displeasure during the tenure of Chappell as a coach. Greg Chappell often used to change the team and tried random radical tactics that actually didn’t worked out.
