Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya dedicated the team’s stupendous victory to his son Agastya. MI chased down their target of 157 runs with eight balls still in spare to beat DC by five wickets & lift their fifth IPL trophy.
“This one’s for you, Agastya,” he tweeted, along with a picture of him lifting the trophy. “Love this team!” added Hardik, who scored 281 runs in 14 matches at an impressive strike rate of 178.98 this season. Agastya opened his eyes in this world on July 30 & the news of his arrival was announced by Hardik & Natasa.
Hardik has been a key player in MI campaign. Despite of not being able to bowl he played stunning knocks at the death overs to help MI defeat DC & hail IPL title for fifth time. Mumbai Indians struck in the very first delivery of the IPL 2020 final to dismiss Marcus Stoinis. DC were soon struggling at 22/3 before Iyer & Rishabh Pant hit half centuries to take the team to 156/7. Boult was the star bowler for MI taking three wickets in the finals including two in the Power play.
Rohit went on to score 68 runs off 51 balls before dismissing Anrich Nortje. But Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten at 33 runs leading MI towards victory with eight balls in spare. Hardik made three runs before losing his wicket with the scores tied, however Krunal hit the winning run to do the job for Mumbai Indians.
