India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya took to twitter on Friday to share a lovely selfie taken with the Motera Stadium in the background.
“It feels surreal to be out here at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Motera. Absolutely magnificent,” read the caption on the tweet. The stadium located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is the largest cricket stadium in the world & it will host the final two matches of the ongoing four match test series between India & England.
The first two games of the Test series were held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. England emerged victorious in the opening test of the Test series by a margin of 227 runs. The visitors posted a huge total of 578 runs after choosing to bat first & the credit of this outstanding victory goes to spectacular double century scored by Joe Root. India were bowled out for 337 runs in their first innings after a four wicket haul by Dom Bess. The hosts made a comeback in the second test bowling out England for 178 runs in their second innings.
However England was not able to display a good show with bat which was evident from their final score of 192 runs after being handed a total of 420 runs. In the second test match India posted a first innings total of 329 runs after captain Virat won the toss & opted to bat first.
Opener Rohit Sharma scored 161 runs off 231 deliveries in an innings which comprised of 18 fours & 2 sixes. Ashwin also performed outstandingly by scoring a brilliant century along with scalping eight wickets which guided India to glorious victory in the second test match.
