England pacer Chris Woakes said that he is enjoying his time with his new IPL team & is having a family sort of vibe with the Delhi Capitals. Chris Woakes has made his debut for Delhi Capitals in their first match against SCK at the Wankhede Stadium. He returned with fantastic figures of 2-18 in his three overs.
“Yeah always nice too, I support starting with a new team. I have played with a couple of IPL teams but there is a real good feel with DC. Good family sort of vibe going on”, Chris Woakes said in a video posted on Delhi Capitals Official Twitter handle.
Delhi Capitals start their IPL campaign on a winning note under the leadership of stand-in captain Rishabh Pant as they defeated CSK by five wickets.
“It is too early, but it’s always good to have a good start. Winning your first match gives a sort of confidence. You know everyone is eager to get going, to begin at the start of the IPL but it’s just one performance. We know there is a lot of games ahead & some good teams to play in a face-off. So we won’t be getting ahead of ourselves but I think everyone in the team is quite confident & looking forward to the next few matches”, Woakes said.
The opening match was played between CSK & DC. Both Prithvi Shaw & Shikhar Dhawan smash CSK bowlers for maximums & boundaries. Prithvi Shaw’s approach was liked by DC head Coach Ricky Ponting. As the batsman lost his winning form in the last year during the India tour of Australia. Delhi Capitals will next face Rajasthan Royals today in the IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium.
