CSK batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad said that he has learned to remain honest to himself & how to stay neutral irrespective of the result from Captain MS dhoni.
Gaikwad made a debut in the last season of the IPL with CSK Franchise. The newbie cricket sensation has showcased his talent by scoring three consecutive half-centuries as CSK knocked out off the league phase by winning three matches in a row. Ruturaj Gaikwad has spent more time with MS Dhoni during this year’s pre-season camp in Chennai.
“One of the crucial lessons I learnt from Dhoni is that there will be good & bad days in Cricket just as in life, but what matters is how honest you are to yourself, stay neutral in both the situations & accept the fact that every day won’t be your day, there will be ups & downs in life. But whenever it’s your day it’s important to make it count”, CSK’s Official Website quoted Gaikwad as saying.
Further, Gaikwad said that he is taking “no pressure at all” ahead of the 14th season of the IPL because he is focused on the “process & not the result. It’s because of the environment I am staying in where the focus is on the process & not the result. I just enjoy the process & make sure that I contribute in every situation I get for CSK”, he said.
“MS Dhoni told me to enjoy playing cricket & not think about the result…just enjoy the atmosphere be calm & once I went on the field he was confident that I would be able to make an impact”, Gaikwad said.
CSK will start their campaign in the IPL 2021 by facing Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 10th.
