Shubman Gill & Cheteshwar Pujara are back on the crease to resume the innings for India whereas Jack Leach starts the bowling attack for England on Day 5 of the first test match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
On Day 4, Ravichandran Ashwin scalped six wickets to bundle up England for 178 runs. India reached 39 runs for one wicket down at the stumps after England’s specialist spinner Jack Leach bowled Rohit Sharma out for 12 runs. Shubman Gill was batting on 15 & Cheteshwar Pujara was batting on 12 with India in need of 381 runs to win the first test of the four match test at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Ashwin claimed his 28th five wicket haul in England’s second innings whereas England’s captain Joe Root scored 258 runs in both the innings of his 100th test match. The action is on with both the teams on the field looking forward to deliver their best performance.
