KL Rahul on Friday hit his fifth ODI in the ongoing second match of the three-match ODI series against England. KL Rahul who suffered a backlog in the recently concluded T20I series returned back to form in the ODI series. KL Rahul scored 108 runs in the 44th over of the Innings.
Shreyas Iyer suffered an injury & this KL Rahul was promoted up in the batting order & he didn’t let the opportunity get wasted as he stitched a solid 121 runs stand with Captain Virat Kohli to steady India’s Innings who were reeling after losing two wickets for just 37 runs.
KL Rahul’s poor form in the recently ended T20I series didn’t affect his 50 overs form as he brought up unbeaten 62 runs off just 43 balls in the first ODI match on Tuesday. Carrying his fine form from the 1st ODI, Rahul scored six fours & two sixes & guided India towards a huge total of 336 runs in 50 overs.
Apart from KL Rahul, Virat Kohli also scored a crisp 66 runs off 79 balls but the India captain failed to score a century as he was dismissed by Adil Rashid. During his batting stint, he becomes the second batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs by batting at the number three position.
After Virat Kohli got out, Rishabh Pant who came in place of injured Shreyas Iyer in the Playing XI justified his selection with his whirlwind knock of 77 runs off 40 balls.
