IND vs SL: The schedule for the three-match ODI & T20I series between India & Sri Lanka has been confirmed. The Host broadcasters of the series, Sony Network on Monday have tweeted the entire schedule for the IND vs SL limited-overs series. The three ODIs will be played on July 13, 16 & 18. While the T20Is will be played on July 21, & the other two T20Is will be played on July 23 & July 25 respectively.
None of the Indian Contingent who is currently on the UK tour for the WTC final & England Test series will participate in the Sri Lanka tour of India. Former India Captain & NCA Head Rahul Dravid will be the coach of the Indian limited-overs team that will tour Sri Lanka for six-match series in July. This will be Dravid’s second stint with the Indian team as he has worked with the team as a batting consultant during the England tour in 2014.
Speaking to the ANI, a BCCI official had confirmed that Rahul Dravid would be leading the Indian team on the Sri-Lanka tour as the trio of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun & Vikram Rathour will be in England with the Indian test squad.
“The team India Coaching staff will be in the UK & it is best that the young team touring Sri Lanka for the limited-overs series will be guided by Dravid as he has already worked with almost all the India ‘A’ boys. The comfort & the bond the youngsters share with him will be an added advantage”, the BCCI official said.
Before taking the post of NCA Head, Rahul Dravid had worked closely with the current group of youngsters in the team at the U-19 level as well as with the India ‘A’ team. Dravid has contributed to building solid bench strength for the national team over the last couple of years. As Dravid has taken the charge of coaching the U-19 & India ‘A’ team in the year 2015.
The Indian squad for Sri Lanka’s limited-overs tour will be selected at the end of this month. And the Indian Squad has to serve a quarantine period in Sri Lanka before playing ODI & T20I series.
