Ravindra Jadeja gets Steve Smith run out to end the Australia’s innings at 338 runs. With three balls left in the over, Smith decided to run two but Jadeja came storming in from right of square leg and nailed the direct hit & with this Australia’s innings comes to an end. Earlier Jadeja got his fourth wicket by dismissing Nathan Lyon for a duck. Jadeja emerged as star bowler for visitors by scalping four crucial wickets of hosts.
Earlier Australia ended the Day 1 of the Sydney Test on 166/2. A total of 55 overs were bowled on day 1 with rain resulting in stoppage of play for more than three hours. Marnus Labuschagne scored a half century & remained unbeaten whereas Steve Smith supported Marnus by stitching a solid partnership of 100 runs.
India got their first breakthrough with Mohammed Siraj dismissing Opener David Warner for just 5 runs & the hosts were reduced to 21 for 1 at lunch break. Sudden drizzle at the Sydney Cricket Ground forced the players to go off the field in 8th over of the third test. Australia had won toss & opted to bat first in the third test match against India.
