India would feel really bad at the end of Day 3 due to the controversial umpire decision. Axar Patel thought that he registered his third wicket of the 4th Innings. He trapped Dan Lawrence in front of the stumps but the umpire termed him not out. India took DRS Review but the finals decision was given to Umpire’s call though the ball was hitting the wickets. Dan Lawrence get saved by the umpire & with this England’s total comes to 53/3 at the stumps of Day 3. Dan Lawrence & Joe Root will resume England’s run chase on Day 4 of the 2nd test match. Visitors would need to bat with caution on day 4 to save this match from going into host’s hand.
Earlier on Day 2, India built a massive lead of 249 runs after spinner Ravichandran Ashwin helped India to wrap up England’s innings for 134 runs on Day 2 of the 2nd Test on Sunday. India were 54 runs for 1 wicket down at stumps on day 2 with Rohit Sharma playing on 25 runs & Cheteshwar Pujara playing on seven runs. Rohit sharma smashed massive 161 runs in India’s first innings whereas Ravichandran Ashwin had claimed five wickets as England collapsed in reply to India’s 329 runs total conceding a massive lead of 195 runs. India is looking forward to register a glorious victory which would help them to level the four match test series after facing a terrific defeat in the Opening Test at Chepauk stadium.
