Opener Batsman Jos Buttler hit an unbeaten half century to help England defeat India by massive eight wickets in the third T20I on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The victory has also helped England to take a 2-1 lead in the five match T20I series. In response to India’s average target of 157 runs, England recovered from an early wicket loss to seal an easy victory with 10 balls to spare. Jos Buttler smashed 83 runs off 52 balls packed with five fours & four sixes & was well supported by Jonny Bairstow (40) as England reached 158/2. Yuzvendra Chahal & Washington Sundar took single wicket each for India. India had posted 156 runs for six wickets in 20 overs, with Captain Virat Kohli scoring an unbeaten knock of 77 runs in 46 balls. Despite of Virat Kohli’s spectacular knock, other Indian batsmen fall prey to England’s bowling attack. Pacer Mark Wood scalped three wickets, & Chris Jordan picked two wickets to glide England to a glorious victory. Both the teams will face each other in the fourth T20I which will take place on March 18. India will be aiming to level the series while England will be hoping to clinch the series by winning the 4th T20I.
