Late but steady shots from Rahul Tewatia & a fine knock from Mahipal Lomroro helped Rajasthan Royals recover from early dismissals & post an average target of 154/6 against RCB.
Rajasthan Royals started with a positive energy with Jos Buttler striking every ball faced very well. However RCB bowlers attacked strongly to dismiss three top order batsmen in quick succession leading them to backward. Isuru Udana dismissed Steve Smith to hand RCB the first breakthrough. Navdeep Saini struck off his very first delivery to end Jos Buttler’s mini-onslaught who departed after scoring 22 off 12 balls. Kohli introduced Chahal in the next over & he delivered immediately by removing Sanju Samson from on field & further taking Rajasthan’s innings backwards. Mahipal who is playing the first match of the season made an immediate impact by scoring 47 runs however without getting any batsman support he got out in 47 runs just 3 runs prior to a half century. Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bat against RCB in Abu Dhabi. RR made one change to their squad by introducing Mahipal in place of Ankit Rajpoot while RCB kept their same playing XI for today’s game.
