Suresh Raina Registers a Quick-fire Half Century!

Suresh Raina scored a sensational half-century in his comeback game against Delhi Capitals. Raina’s power-hitting along with Sam Curran’s master class in the death overs powered CSK to a solid total of 188/7 in 20 overs against DC at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.

After eight overs, CSK were just 48/2 but Raina & then Sam Curran played swashbuckling knocks to guide CSK to a mammoth of 188/7 despite the team struggling after the 15th over. While Raina smashed both the DC spinners Ashwin & Amit Mishra for maximums after the early fall of openers wickets. Sam Curran & Ravindra Jadeja smashed the pacers in the death overs.

Moeen Ali & Suresh Raina steadied CSK’s Innings!

After sent to bat first, CSK got off to a bad start as they lost both the openers Faf Du Plessis & Ruturaj Gaikwad before the completion of the third over. While Avesh Khan caught Du Plessis in front of the stumps, Chris Woakes dismissed Gaikwad to leave CSK struggling at 7/2. Suresh Raina & Moeen Ali counter-attacked with Moeen Ali leading the charge. The duo steadied CSK’s ship by adding 53 runs for the third wicket in 38 balls. Moeen Ali got out after hitting Ashwin’s delivery for two back to back sixes.

Meanwhile, Raina scored his scintillating half-century since 2019 in just 32 balls. He also stitched another half-century partnership with Ambati Rayudu. However, Rayudu couldn’t take the DC’s bowling attack for long & get bowled while trying to accelerate his innings. Then a huge confusion between Raina & Jadeja resulted in the fall of another wicket. Raina departed after registering 54 runs. CSK’s ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni got dismissed for 0 off Avesh’s delivery. After Dhoni got out CSK lost three wickets in quick succession. After Dhoni’s wicket, CSK could score 12 runs in the 17th & 18th overs.
