RCB captain Virat Kohli won the toss & opted to bowl first against Mumbai Indians in the season-opening match of the 14th edition of the IPL. After the toss, Virat Kohli said that Glenn Maxwell, Kyle Jamieson, Dan Christian & Rajat Patidar will play for RCB in their first match against Mumbai Indians.

Let’s see what Kohli has to say about his Squad & today’s match!

“It’s unbelievable, a bit of mini-break has helped me to win the toss. Going to bowl first. They are a team that likes chasing targets. Good chance for us to get into the stadium & create some intensity. With the balanced squad, we have this year we can do both things well but have to understand who you are playing against. We understand the kind of depth they have they are never out of the match. Bowling first was a no-brainer for us”, Kohli said after winning the toss.

Virat further said that every year IPL has a different level of energy, a different vibe. It’s a high-intensity game & playing for the same franchise for the past few years is an honour for him. “Dubai was great as well but this feels like home. Great feeling to be playing in our stadiums & have people watch us in prime times. Three guys will make debut for us & they are Maxwell, Jamieson & Christian”, Kohli added.

Rohit Sharma talks about New Inclusion in MI Squad!

After the toss, Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma shared his views about the opening clash. “Would have fielded first as well. But as a team, we have batted well over the years. Nothing is different for us. We will operate on the same strategy i.e. Bat well in the power play & set the game for the big hitters. Recently had played a couple of tests. We need to do what we do as a team i.e. put our best forward. It is a fresh year for us & we don’t need to look at what’s happened in the past. New faces have joined our squad. The last game we played was the final in Dubai. We have made only two changes in that lineup. Quinton De Kock is in quarantine, so he isn’t available. Lynn will make a debut. And we have a six foot eight inches South African, Marco Jensen”, said Rohit Sharma.

Mumbai Indians Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Chris Lynn, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Marco Jansen, Jayant Yadav, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI: Virat kohli (Captain), Rajat Patidar, AB de Villiers (WC), Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Christian, Washington Sundar, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Shahbaz Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal.
