Ishant has played in all fpur test matches in the Test series but only bowled 59 overs with Indian spinners breaking down England’s batting order on turning tracks.
The veteran fast bowler who became the second Indian pacer after Kapil Dev to complete a century of Test matches ended the series with six wickets at an average of 26.67. Ishant hasn’t played a limited overs series for India since 2016. His last ODI appearance came in January 2016 where he last played a T20I match in October 2013.
Ishant Sharma has entered an elite league of players who have played 100 tests for their countries. He is the 11th player from India to play 100 matches in Test Cricket. Legendary Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of most Test matches played with 200 appearances.
During the Test Series against England, Ishant Sharma also became 300 wickets in test Cricket. He has now scalped 303 wickets at an average of 32.27. He has picked up 11 five wicket hauls in an innings apart from one 10 wicket haul in the match. Ishant Sharma has played 80 ODIs for India in which he scalped 115 wickets.
