ECB on Tuesday confirmed that the pacer Jofra Archer receives a green signal from his consultant to resume training. As his right hand is healing after he underwent surgery on March 29. He will start with light training this week, working with the Sussex & England’s Men’s Medical teams. “It is hoped that he will be able to start bowling with intensity by next week. More updates on his elbow injury will be provided once he resumes bowling to assess the effectiveness of his recent injection”, ECB said in an Official Statement.
“No decision has been made yet on when Archer will return to play”, it added. Jofra Archer had suffered an injury to his hand while doing cleaning at his home in January. Just before flying to India to prepare for the Test Series”.
The ECB’s medical team managed Jofra Archer’s injury throughout the tour & so it did not impact his availability. A fragment of glass was found in his middle finger during the operation in March. Jofra Archer had played in two tests & all the five T20Is against India. He was then ruled out of the ODI series. And even the first half of the IPL 2021 for the rehabilitation of his injury.
Before the start of the ODI series against India, England’s captain Eoin Morgan has made it clear that the call regarding Archer injury & healing would be taken by the pacer himself in consultation with the ECB medical team.
Jofra Archer will be missing the first half of the IPL 2021. And would be seen in the later stage of the IPL 2021 if he is termed fit by the medical team.
