Karun Nair recovers from Coronavirus & is Fit to Travel to UAE for IPL 2020!

Kings XI Punjab’s batsman Karun Nair was tested positive for COVID-19 last month but now has recovered from the deadly virus & is getting ready to travel to the UAE for the IPL 2020 which is starting from September 19.

Cricket Website reported that Nair has “went into self-isolation for more than two weeks” before testing negative for the deadly coronavirus. The franchise has not commented on Nair’s report but a BCCI source has reportedly said to PTI that Nair has completed his two weeks of Quarantine period & has been tested negative on August 8. Now he have to clear three more coronavirus tests like other players to be able to fly to the UAE on August 20.

“He is absolutely fine now. He was asymptomatic throughout and was feeling okay. His test came negative after two weeks and he has even resumed personal training. Now, he will be tested like all other squad members before the team leaves for UAE,” the source said.

Karun Nair who has scored a triple century in Test matches has last played for India in 2017. He has been a part of KXIP since 2018. The 28 year old will be playing along his Karnataka teammates Mayank Agarwal & KL Rahul who will head the team for the first time.

The team will head towards Dubai & like other teams all the players & staff members will undergo a six day Quarantine upon their arrival. They will also have to produce three negative tests to enter the bio-bubble atmosphere & start training.

On Tuesday also RR announced their fielding coach Dishant Yagnik had tested positive for coronavirus & is currently in Udaipur in his hometown. The IPL will start from September 19 & the finals is on November 10 across three venues in UAE i.e. Dubai, Sharjah & Abu Dhabi.
