Former England Captain Kevin Pietersen on Tuesday hailed RCB’s wicket-keeper batsman AB De Villiers for giving such a stupendous performance which led RCB to win the match against Mumbai Indians.
His remark came as RCB defeated Mumbai Indians in the Super Over on Monday at the Dubai International Stadium. In the Super over Mumbai Indians were able to score just seven runs as Navdeep Saini restricted them from scoring more runs through his stupendous bowling & when RCB took over batting, Virat & AB De chased the runs quite easily registering an unexpected win against Mumbai Indians.
Before Super over took place during normal match both Mumbai & Bangalore based teams scored 201 runs. But when the game went into Super over Rohit Sharma didn’t send star performer Kishan to play Super Over as he was completely exhausted and so Pollard & Pandya came out to bat on Super Over.
Pietersen was not happy with the batsman chosen by Mumbai Indians & he said that AB De Villiers is an example of how the best batsman in the team should play a very crucial Super Over. After the match, Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma also explained as to why Ishan Kishan didn’t came out to play the Super over.
“Kishan was drained out and he was not comfortable for the Super Over. He was not feeling fresh and Hardik is someone we trust hitting the long balls,” Sharma told host broadcaster Star Sports after the match.
RCB till now has played three matches in the IPL 2020 & has managed to win two out of three matches. RCB will face one of the best teams of the IPL 2020, Rajasthan Royals on October 3rd.
