KKR registers a Thrilling Two Runs Win over KXIP in Abu Dhabi!

KKR pulls off a thrilling win against KXIP at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday as KXIP batting suffered a minute collapse in the end of the innings.

KXIP needed just 29 runs off the last four overs with KL Rahul & Nicholas Pooran getting out in the middle it looked quite easy for the batting side to chase the target easily but a restricted bowling by KKR along with some poor shots selection by KXIP batsmen led to the fifth defeat of KXIP in the ongoing IPL.

Prasidh Krishna took three runs for 29 from his quota of four overs as KKR stole victory from Jaws of defeat. With seven runs needed off last delivery, Glenn Maxwell smashed the ball over covers but it landed just inside the boundary ropes & gave KKR a close two runs victory. Earlier in the day, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss & opted to bat. KKR got off to a poor start losing crucial wickets of Rahul Tripathi & Nitish Rana inside the power play.

Eoin Morgan tried to handle KKR’s batting side with Shubman Gill but was bowled out by Ravi Bishnoi. Morgan scored 24 runs off 23 balls. Shubman Gill fetched a half century before he was run out in the 18th over. He made just 57 runs. Karthik came to bat on number 5th spot & scored a quick-fire knock of 58 runs which helped KKR to post a total of 164 runs for six balls from 20 overs.

In reply to KKR, Mayank Agarwal & KL Rahul provided a good start for KXIP by putting a 115 runs partnership however the partnership was cut short by Krishna. Nicholas Pooran then joined Rahul in the middle & then they were trying to meet the chase before a bad shot from the West Indies batsman brought his downfall. Punjab lose three more wickets in the last two overs & finally faced defeat by KKR by mere two runs.
