Kolkata Knight Riders have hired England’s white ball analyst Nathan Leamon as their strategic consultant ahead of the most awaited IPL 2021.
Nathan Leamon will now be actively involved in KKR’s auction planning & will also work along with AR Srikkanth who is KKR’s current performance analyst, reported by a leading media portal. Due to his inclusion in KKR’s franchise, Leamon will take a leave from the ECB during IPL 2021.
Leamon has been working with England since 2009 & shares a close relation with England’s white ball captain Eoin Morgan. Spending 2 months in IPL with Morgan can be crucial to Leamon & ECB ahead of the T20 World Cup this year which is scheduled to be played in India.
KKR finished on 5th spot in the IPL 2020 with seven victories & as many losses. The team had appointed Morgan as the Captain mid-way after Dinesh Karthik decided to step down as the leader. In December last year, Morgan had defended Leamon after England was using a system of coded signals from the dressing room to the pitch during their T20I series in South Africa.
Leamon has worked with Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League (PSL). The IPL 2021 auction will be held on February 18 in Chennai. KKR have eight slots available including two for overseas players after the team released Tom Banton and Chris Green from their 2021 squad.
