MI Grabs Top Spot on the Points Table after beating RR by 57 Runs!


Mumbai Indians are making its fans proud by showing a ravishing performance in the IPL 2020 which led them to a fourth win in the 19th match of the IPL 2020 in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs & with this comfortable win they grabbed top spot on the Points Table.

In beginning, Mumbai Indians tried to save their batting order after losing their star player Quinton de Kock in the Power play but played aggressively in the death overs by smashing 51 runs in the last four overs finishing on a decent 193/4. In response to Mumbai Indians knock Rajasthan Royals lost their top three players inside the first six overs & despite of Jos Buttler’s ravishing 70 runs off 44 balls Rajasthan Royals succumbed to 136 runs all out in 18.1 overs giving a comfortable win to Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians won the toss & opted to bat & justified their decision with de Kock adding 23 runs & Rohit Sharma adding 35 runs inside the first five overs of the match.

Suryakumar Yadav was the star batsman for Mumbai Indians with an unbeaten 79 runs off 47 balls by smashing 11 fours & two sixes & even though Rohit & Kishan got dismissed off successive balls by Shreyas Gopal & Krunal Pandya scoring just 12 runs off 17 balls, Hardik’s unbeaten 30 runs off 19 balls helped Mumbai Indians finish well.

In reply to the opener Yashasvi Jaiswal brought in the XI in place of Robin Uthappa got out in the first over off Trent Boult before Steve Smith who comes for batting at No. 3 got caught by Jasprit Bumrah in the second over itself. Sanju Samson got caught by Rohit off Boult delivery reducing Rajasthan Royals to just 12 runs with 3 wickets already down in first three overs. Buttler looked in full form by hitting 4 fours & 5 sixes enrooting his 10th IPL half century but his stint was cut short by Kieron Pollard who took a remarkable catch at the long-on fence to send the Englishman back in the hut.

RR were 98/5 after the ball of Buttler’s wicket & from there RR lost their last five wickets for just 38 runs. RR have lost three match in a row since their win over KXIP last month when they chased the highest run score in the IPL history. They are now placed at seventh position in the points table & need to win a couple of matches any how to regain their top spot in points table whereas Mumbai Indians went top of the table with eight points from six matches.
