KXIP have recorded a superlative win against Mumbai Indians after a spectacular win in the second super over of today’s historic match. In the end of the first super over both the teams finished at the same score of 5 runs with MI losing 1 wicket & KXIP being 2 down. This led the match in the 2nd Super Over where KXIP chased a target of 12 runs after excellent batting stint by Chris Gayle & Mayank Agarwal.
Earlier KXIP finished the match with a score of 176/6 following stupendous 77 runs from Captain KL Rahul after being handed a target of 177 runs which led the match into the first super over. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a terrific performance by scalping three wickets after which Mumbai Indians posted a total of 176 runs by losing six wickets in 20 overs. Earlier Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bat. Quinton De Kock was the highest run scorer hitting 53 runs in just 43 balls in an innings comprising of three boundaries & same number of sixes. De Kock enjoyed a quality support from Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Nathan Coulter-Nile who played valuable knocks. Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh accounted for two wickets apiece, with English pacer Chris Jordan completing one dismissal.
