MI vs RCB: Who will be leading in Season Opener Match?

Mumbai Indians headed by Rohit Sharma will start their IPL 2021 Campaign against Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai on Friday 9th April. The Mi vs RCB is expected to be a firing clash. As both, the teams have some of the best players from across the world in their setup. Mumbai Indians has not made many changes with their core team at the player auction. While RCB invested huge money in overseas players to strengthen their core team. RCB by roping in Glenn Maxwell & Kyle Jamieson is hoping to rope the title this IPL season.

Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians has won five IPL titles in the last seven years & is the most successful team in the history of the IPL. Mumbai Indians gear up for defending their title win & is looking forward to creating history by becoming the only team in the IPL to win three titles on a trot.

RCB who have a strong batting lineup is hoping to start the season by registering a win in the first match against Mumbai Indians. Despite having some great players in their squad, RCB is yet to win an IPL title.

In last year’s IPL, Kohli led RCB have qualified for the playoffs but lost the eliminator match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Due to the ongoing Pandemic situation, no team will play on their home ground in this year’s IPL. All the matches will be played across six venues i.e. Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru & Ahmedabad.

Pitch Report:

The pitch at Chidambaram should be batting friendly with some spin options available off the surface for the bowlers. There should be some swing available for the new ball bowlers. The new ballers will try to slow their pace as the match progresses further. The total above 160 is a decent total at Chidambaram stadium in the IPL 2021 season opener match.
