Michael Vaughan has again taken a sharp dig at India’s performance by tweeting the prediction for the three-match ODI series between India & England. Vaughan pointed to the absence of Jofra Archer & Joe Root from England’s ODI squad as a major advantage for team India & predicted a 3-0 win for India.
However, Aakash Chopra was quick to give a witty response to Michael Vaughan’s tweet by mentioning that India too is missing key players in their ODI squads such as Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami.
Michael Vaughan tweeted, “Early One-day series prediction …. India will win 3-0!!! No Root or Archer”, to which Aakash Chopra commented, “No Bumrah No Shami No Jadeja. #OnOn.”
Jasprit Bumrah was granted leave by the BCCI ahead of the fourth test in Ahmedabad due to his marriage. He did not feature in the five-match T20I series also & he has not been named in the ODI squad either.
Mohammed Shami who fractured his wrist during the first test against Australia in November 2020, hasn’t been seen in action since then. Ravindra Jadeja who suffered a thumb injury began his rehabilitation earlier this month & will be seen in action in the IPL 2021 representing CSK. Whereas in England’s squad, Archer was ruled out of the ODIs due to an elbow injury while Joe Root has gone back to England after the conclusion of test matches as a part of ECB’s rotation Policy.
Three match ODI series will start on Tuesday in Pune & the remaining two matches will be played on 26th & 28th March. All the matches will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
