Yesterday was not a lucky day for SRH as the team lost their first clash of the IPL 2020 season against RCB. SRH Captain David Warner provided an injury update on Mitchell Marsh.
SRH loss the match with RCB by 10 runs while chasing a target of 164 runs on Monday. “Losing Mitch (Marsh) early, hopefully, he’s okay, it doesn’t look great. A lot of courage from him to walk out there and try his best, but it was unfortunate tonight. He’s got to get an X-ray, hopefully, it’s not too bad. It doesn’t look great. Obviously, what you saw out there, it was quite painful, he can’t put any weight on it. Fingers crossed,” Warner said at the post-match presentation.
Mitchell Marsh came to bowl the fifth over of the RCB innings & ended twisting his ankle on the second ball of the over. He bowled two more balls with pain & decided to leave the field. Later he came to bat at number 10 spot & was limping. However he got out at the very first ball he faced & thus SRH faced a 10 run loss.
SunRisers were at 121/2 & were looking very comfortable with achieving the target of 164 runs. However Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini made a stunning comeback & proved star bowlers for RCB. In no time, SRH lost eight wickets for just 32 runs & lost the match by 10 runs. SRH will face KKR on September 26 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
