Purple Cap

Mayank Agarwal successful took over the Orange Cap from teammate KL Rahul with Shami being the new Purple Cap Holder.

Mumbai Indians gone up on the top of the IPL 2020 points table with 48 run win over KXIP. By securing two wins in four matches they are level up on points along with Delhi Capitals, KKR, Rajasthan Royals & RCB but a superior net run rates always keeps them ahead of the rest teams. However they have now played one more match than the other teams on four points whereas KXIP dropped straight to spot 6 but still maintained a better NRR than CSK & SRH who have two points each on the points table. However, with CSK and SRH facing off on Friday, KXIP are bound to drop another place before their next game.

KXIP’s top players are Mayank & KL Rahul who failed to make a big impression through their performance in yesterday’s match however Mayank was successful in taking the Orange Cap from his opening partner & captain. Agarwal now leads the run charts in the IPL tournament with 246 runs scored under his belt while KL Rahul is behind him with 239 runs. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma scored 70 runs off 45 deliveries climbed up the runs chart with his second half century of the season.

Kieron Pollard who scored an unbeaten 47 runs off 20 deliveries has also moved up to 6th spot on runs scoring charts. Mohammed Shami reclaimed the Purple Cap from Rabada as he took 8 wickets in the tournament. Rabada is close behind him, with 7 wickets & just one more wicket will help him to take the Purple Cap back from Shami but only when a better economy rate given that he doesn’t leak too many runs in the next game.
