‘Aamchi Mumbai’ is back in form by registering a Superb Seven Wickets Win against RR!

MI vs RR: Finally some good news for the MI fans! Their all-time favorite ‘MI Paltan’ finally returns to winning terms by registering a comprehensive seven wickets win over Rajasthan Royals in the Match 24 of the IPL 2021 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday.

MI was struggling in the past few matches however they finally ended their losing streak by sealing a clinical victory against RR. De Kock & Krunal Pandya played crucial knocks of 70 & 39 to guide Mumbai Indians towards the ladder of victory. Krunal’s 39 runs knock also marked his comeback after witnessing a dull period with the bat in the first five matches of Mumbai Indians.

Chasing a decent target of 172 runs, Mumbai Indians got off to a perfect start as its Captain Rohit Sharma & Quinton de Kock together put 49 runs opening stand. However, Chris Morris ended Rohit’s batting stint by departing him on 14 runs. Then came Suryakumar Yadav who along with De Kock stitched a 34 runs stand. But soon Chris Morris ended their partnership in the 10th over by sending Suryakumar Yadav back to the pavilion for 16 runs.

De Kock & Krunal Pandya’s 63 runs stand plays a vital role in Mumbai Indians’ victory over RR!

Mumbai Indians were looking in trouble as none of their batsmen could settle on the crease for a long time. But then came Krunal Pandya who steadied MI’s submerging ship by partnering with De Kock to help their side remain alive in the chase of 172 runs. De Kock scored his first half-century of the season & the duo together put 63 runs on board for Mumbai Indians. RR’s Mustafizur Rahman broke Krunal-De Kock’s dangerous partnership by removing Krunal for 39 runs in the 17th over. In the end, Kieron Pollard played a cameo of 16 runs off eight balls to take Mumbai Indians over the line in the MI vs RR clash.

Earlier Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson & Shivam Dube were the leading run-scorers for RR who posted a decent total of 171/4 in 20 overs. Samson (42), Buttler (41) & Dube (35) got off to a good start but none of them could settle for long as MI’s death over specialists Trent Boult & Jasprit Bumrah managed to restrict RR’s batsmen from scoring big.

With this victory, MI rose up to the fourth sport on the Points Table with six points scored from six matches. By coming back to the losing streak, RR remains at the sixth spot on the Points Table with 2 points scored from six matches.
