Mushfiqur Rahim laid the foundation of a series-clinching win for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka in the second ODI match of the three-match ODI series by registering a blistering century.
However, more than the heroics with bat Mushfiqur Rahim has become the talk of the town for his commentary from behind the stumps after a video of him started doing rounds on social media. In the video, he can be heard saying the bowler to push the non-striker down, if he comes in front.
“Push him to the ground, if he comes in front,” the stump mic caught Rahim instructing off-spinner Mehidy Hasan in Bengali during the second ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

In the second ODI match, Mushfiqur Rahim amassed 125 runs off 127 balls to help Bangladesh register a decent total of 246 runs in 50 overs. Whereas for visitors, Dushmantha Chameera was the pick of the bowlers who finished with the figures of 3 for 44. In response to Bangladesh’s 246 runs, Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals & reached 126 for nine wickets down after 38 overs before rain stopped the game at the Sher-e- Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
After the rain break was over, Sri Lanka’s innings were reduced to 40 overs & the visitors had to meet an impossible target of 119 runs in just two overs. Sri Lanka finally lost the match by 103 runs as Bangladesh took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The third & final ODI match will be played at the same venue on 28th May, Friday.
