NZ vs SCO 2nd T20I: New Zealand outclasses Scotland by 102 runs to seize the series by 2-0

NZ vs SCO 2nd T20I: New Zealand registered a thumping win over Scotland by 102 runs in the second T-20 International to seize another series whitewash on European soil. Previously, New Zealand recorded magnificent series of victories against Ireland and the Netherlands.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, captain Mitchell Santner’s decision turned out to stand out for his side. New Zealand registered a record-breaking total of 254/5 in 20 overs as Mark Chapman and Michael Bracewell gleamed.

Cleaver-Chapman’s gutsy knocks guided Black Caps to a Competitive Total

New Zealand lost a quick wicket in the form of Finn Allen (6) but the misery was soon blown out by a healthy performance by Dane Cleaver (28), Mark Chapman (83), and Daryl Mitchell (31). Cleaver and Chapman added 35 runs for the second wicket whereas Mitchell and Chapman added 62 for the third wicket.

In the end, it was a splendid effort from Michael Bracewell (61) and James Neesham (28) that helped New Zealand cross the 250-run mark. Bracewell alongside Chapman added 53 runs for the fourth wicket whereas Bracewell and Neesham put up a spectacular 79-run stand for the fifth wicket.

For Scotland, Gavin Main (2/44) was the pick of the bowlers whereas Chris Greaves (1/23), Alasdair Evans (1/62), and Hamza Tahir (1/54) got a wicket apiece.

Scotland succumbed to the Black Caps fiery Bowling Spell

Chasing an inevitable total of 255 runs, Scotland failed to survive a stiff bowling attack from New Zealand and could post only 152 runs on the board. Apart from Berrington (22) and Greaves (37) who added 49-runs for the sixth wicket, no other Scottish batsman could cross the 20-run mark.

For New Zealand, James Neesham (2/9) and Michael Rippon (2/37) starred in the bowling attack whereas Michael Bracewell (1-5), Ben Sears (1/25), Mitchell Santner (1/19), and Ish Sodhi (1/29) chipped in a wicket apiece.

NZ vs SCO 2nd T20I: New Zealand and Scotland will play the one-off ODI at the Grange Club tomorrow.
