Recently fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar mentioned that he has been approached by the PCB for a major role in the Cricket Board. Though he indicated that nothing has been finalized yet.
There were also rumors that Misbah-Ul-Haq will vacant the Chief Selector position of the National team as the former speedster was all set to join the management. Now, PCB has dismissed all such rumors. All these rumors took roots when Shoaib Akhtar expressed his dissatisfaction over the lack aggressive approach by the PCB. Akhtar said that Pakistan cricket Board needs an aggressive thinker just like him who change the environment of cricket in Pakistan. He has been very expressing about his thoughts for Pakistan’s players & has been criticized a lot for praising Indian Cricketers on his YouTube Channel. After this, in another video, he claimed that he is in talks with PCB but nothing is finalized yet.
Shoaib Akhtar reportedly said, “I will not deny it. Yes, I have had some discussions with the board and I am interested in playing a major role in Pakistan cricket. But nothing is decided as yet. Yes, there have been some discussions. I can reveal only this much but nothing concrete as yet. But talks are still on. I have not said yes neither have they (PCB) said yes.”
Now PCB has finally commented on Akhtar’s claim & denied any such offer to the former Pakistan Cricketer. As per Pakistan journalist Saj Sadiq’s recent tweet, the PCB has quashed all such claims. Saj Sadiq tweeted, “Despite some recent reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board says that they are not considering Shoaib Akhtar for any role #Cricket”.
