PCB is considering UAE as a ‘preferred venue’ to host the remaining 20 matches of the PSL 6!


The PCB & the six franchisee’s owners met virtually on Friday to discuss hosting the remaining twenty matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6.

The group had a discussion that included feedback from the National Command & Operation center. During the Conference, UAE emerged as a preferred venue for hosting the remaining twenty matches of the PSL six. According to PCB’s analysis, the holiday period has started in both countries. And the Pakistan Men’s National Team will depart for the UK on June 23. The PCB is planning to use this time to work with the Emirates Cricket Board to figure out if the PSL six can be successfully completed within the available time period.

During the holiday period, the PCB is planning to develop a revised tournament schedule. While it will also co-ordinate with the ECB in terms of finalizing playing & training facilities, Hotel bookings, ground transportation & Pakistan squad’s visas who are scheduled to tour England.

According to the PCB, the board will carry out a detailed financial & risk assessment as well as the cost analysis before reporting to the franchises. The franchises will then review all the analysis before a decision on the event venue is taken.

“We had an interactive & productive meeting in which we have considered a number of factors involved in hosting the PSL in the UAE. While after discussion the UAE has emerged as a preferred venue to host the PSL 6. A number of challenges still remain which will be worked out in the next few days. We are very committed to doing everything possible to complete the PSL 6”, said PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan in an Official Statement.

PSL six was postponed after an array of COVID-19 cases were reported in March this year. The tournament is scheduled to resume in June with the final’s scheduled to be conducted on June 20.
