AB De Villiers continues to stun his fans by playing some surreal knocks! He continues to prove that age is just a number as evident from his superhuman knock against KKR in yesterday’s clash. The veteran South-African player smashed KKR bowlers by hitting great number of sixes & fours powering RCB to a match winning total of 194 runs for 2 wickets in just 20 overs. Even RCB captain & AB De Villiers’s teammate termed his knock as “superhuman”. Since long time there has been talks of getting De Villiers come out of retirement & recently India Coach Ravi Shastri drummed up that beat once again by saying, the game in these tough times needs you back in the international Cricket”.
“Now, that the penny has dropped. What one saw last night was “unreal”. And the feeling is the same waking up. @ABdeVilliers17, the game in these trying times or otherwise needs you back in the international arena and out of retirement. The game will be better off,” Shastri tweeted on Tuesday morning.
The South African cricketer has shocked the world by announcing his retirement from International cricket in May 2018. However the veteran batsman is still fit & striking the ball just as well as he used to in his heydays.
The World again got the chance to witness his brilliance with the bat on Monday when RCB was playing against KKR. De Villiers managed to score an unbeaten 73 runs off just 33 balls which included five fours & six sixes. To put De Villiers knock into perspective Kohli who also remained unbeaten saw the magic got unfold from the non-sticker’s end who ended up scoring 33 runs off 28 balls. In reply to RCB’s target KKR could manage to reach just 112 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs further making De Villiers efforts fruitful for RCB.
Yesterday the level of AB De Villiers was quite different from other batsman playing in Sharjah & this is not the first time when he has stunned everyone with his Unreal knock. Even when Kohli was failing to score runs in the beginning of the IPL 2020, AB De Villiers managed to lessen the damage of Kohli’s failures by hitting two half-centuries in three matches. De Villiers now has 228 runs scored from seven games in the IPL 2020 averaging 57 runs & a strike rate of 185.36, better than anyone in the top 20 of the ‘most runs’ scored list this year.
