RR vs RCB- A clash that was full of Power-Pack Performances!
RR vs RCB clash was not less than an action movie for all the RCB fans! Power-pack batting stint from Padikkal & Captain Kohli guided RCB to a dominant 10 wickets win over RR in the 16th match of the IPL held at the Wankhede Stadium.
Padikkal’s firing unbeaten 101 coupled with Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 72 helped RCB to overpower RR & register their fourth consecutive win in a trot in the IPL 2021. Chasing a total of 178 runs, Devdutt Padikkal & Virat Kohli displayed a match-winning performance with the bat as both the openers took RCB over the line in just 16.3 overs.
Devdutt Padikkal scored his Maiden IPL Century!
Yesterday’s match was a moment of pride for Padikkal as he successfully brought up his maiden IPL century. He scored 101 runs off just 52 balls in an innings which was studded with 6 sixes & 11 fours. While Kohli emerged as Padikkal’s supporting hand by registering quick-fire 72 runs off 47 balls. His innings was decorated with 3 sixes & 7 fours. In yesterday’s clash, Virat Kohli achieved the remarkable milestone of becoming the first batsman to complete 6000 runs in the history of the IPL.
While yesterday’s match was a series of accolades for RCB it proved to be a nightmare for opponents Rajasthan Royals. Sent to bat first, RR’s Shivam Dube & Rahul Tewatia played a steady knock of 46 & 40 to glide Rajasthan Royals to a decent total of 177/9 in 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals didn’t have a good start with the bat as they lost their openers, Jos Buttler & Manan Vohra, within the first four overs.

RR witnessed a regular fall of wickets as David Miller too departed on a two-ball duck. Pacer Mohammed Siraj scalped his second wicket of the day as he caught Miller in front of the stumps. Captain Samson & Shivam Dube tried hard to steady their innings by adding some runs on their scoreboard. The duo added 25 runs before Kane Richardson removed Samson from the pitch on 21 runs. The dismissal of Samson also marked the end of a flourishing partnership between Samson & Dube right in the 8th over.
Then came Riyan Parag for RR’s rescue by partnering with Dube & together the duo scored 66 runs off 39 balls to give some relief to RR’s clan. Dube was in good form & Parag supported him to the fullest in their 66 runs stand. However, Parag’s stint couldn’t last long as Harshal Patel removed Riyan Parag for 25 runs in the 14th over. Shivam Dube was heading strongly with the bat despite the regular fall of wickets on the other end.
Rajasthan Royals registered their third loss in a trot!
Rahul Tewatia came to bat at No 7 & along with Dube, the duo added 24 runs on RR’s scoreboard. However, in form Dube was finally sent back to the pavilion by Richardson in the 16th over. He had successfully brought up 46 runs off 32 balls. For RR no batsmen could settle on the crease for a long duration to stable their side’s innings.
After the dismissal of Shivam Dube, Chris Morris came to partner with Tewatia & steady RR’s submerging ship. Morris & Tewatia anyhow dragged RR to the 150 runs mark. However fiery pacer Mohammed Siraj removed Tewatia in the 19th over. Tewatia played a stable 40 runs knock off 23 balls which included two maximums.

In the last over RR couldn’t add many runs to their scoreboard. As Morris departed on 10 runs & Chetan Sakariya was removed for 0. It was Shreyas Gopal who gave a finishing touch to RR’s total by adding seven runs off the last four balls.
For RCB, Mohammed Siraj & Harshal Patel were the pick of bowlers by scalping three wickets each. By chasing the target comfortably RCB registers victory in style in the RR vs RCB clash. By winning all four matches, RCB has moved on top of the IPL 2021 Points Table
