Robin Uthappa unknowingly Applies Saliva on The Ball during RR vs. KKR Clash!

In Tuesday’s IPL match between Rajasthan Royals & Kolkata Knight Riders, Robin Uthappa accidentally applied Saliva on the ball while fielding in the third over. You all might be aware that due to coronavirus, as a precautionary measure, the ICC has banned using saliva to shine the ball.

However the players are allowed to use sweat as an alternative to shine the cricket ball. This incident took place in the third over when Uthappa dropped an easy catch after opening batsman Sunil Narine played a super shot. A team can be given up to two warnings for repeated use of saliva on the cricket ball but after that the team will face 5 runs penalty according to the ICC new code of conduct.

After winning the toss RR sent KKR to bat first & so KKR made 174 runs thanks to Eoin Morgan & Shubman Gill’s whose contribution helped KKR to reach the set target. In the final over, Tom Curran gave away 16 runs and enabled KKR to get past the 170 run mark.

Whereas Rajasthan Royals started their chase on a bad note as the captain Steve got dismissed early in the second over itself. Even Jos Buttler & Sanju Samson failed to resist the attack by the opposition as the batsmen looked to rush things & score runs rather than holding up & taking the chase in a steady approach. Eventually, Royals were restricted to 137/9 giving KKR a 37-run victory.
