The pitch in the third test between India & England has left fans wondering about what the pitch will be like in the fourth & final test & adding spice to the ‘pitch argument’, India’s opener batsman Rohit Sharma shared a cheeky post regarding Pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
India won third test by 10 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where the pitch received plenty of criticism. Taking to Instagram Rohit Sharma posted a picture of himself where he is seen lying on the ground & looking at the pitch. Rohit captioned the post as, “Wondering what would be the pitch like for 4th test”.
The pitch in the third test match saw many batsmen getting bowled on straight delivers from spinners. Axar Patel scalped 11 wickets in the third test at Narendra Modi Stadium. Even England’s Captain Joe Root scalped five wickets in the third test. Rohit Sharma scored highest run by any batsman in the third test smashing 66 runs off 96 balls during India’s first Innings.
The victory helped India take 2-1 lead in the four match test series & with a massive defeat in third test, England lost their chance to qualify for the final of World Test Championship. After the third test match Rohit stated that a batsman should show intent to score in such conditions.
Speaking in a virtual conference Rohit said, “When you are playing on a pitch like that, you need to have an intent and look to score runs as well. You can’t just keep blocking. As you saw that odd ball might just turn and odd ball might just skid on to stumps, when you play for turn.”
“The pitch was an interesting one and odd ball was just coming in and some were taking turn. On a track like this, you need to have a clear mindset,” he had said. The fourth & final test will start from March 4 in Ahmedabad.
