Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma on Thursday became the third batsman to score 5000 runs in the IPL. He achieved this feat against KXIP at Sheikh Zayed Stadium with a glorious cover drive.
Rohit has now scored more than 5,000 IPL runs in 191 matches. The other two players who have scored over 5000 runs in the IPL are Virat Kohli & Suresh Raina. Kohli has 5,430 runs registered on his name from 180 games while Raina has scored 5,368 runs from 193 matches. Rohit & raina have scored just one century 5,368 runs from 193 matches. Rohit & Raina have smashed just one century while Kohli has slammed five centuries in the IPL.
SRH captain David Warner is on fourth spot in the run scoring charts in the IPL as he has scalped 4,793 runs from 129 matches. In the ongoing match KXIP won the toss & opted to field first. Mumbai Indians had a bad start as they lost De Kock in the first over but in the end MI through its fantastic bowling hailed victory against KXIP. Both the teams have won just a single match so far out of three matches. However KXIP are leading in the points table ahead of Mumbai Indians owing to their better net run rate.
