Pakistan’s Opener batsman Fakhar Zaman registers the highest ever Individual score in an ODI while chasing a target of 342 runs against South Africa in the 2nd ODI match on Sunday.
Fakhar registered a brilliant knock of 193 runs in the chase of a Mammoth total of 342 runs. However, despite Fakhar’s heroics with the bat, Pakistan failed to chase the target set by South Africa. Pak fell short of 17 runs & thus suffered defeat in the 2nd ODI against South Africa.
Zaman’s swashbuckling knock comprised of 10 sixes & 18 boundaries including three consecutive sixes off Tabraiz Shamsi in a single over. Chasing a huge total, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals but Fakhar didn’t succumb to Africa’s bowling attack. He smashed boundaries even off South Africa’s bad deliveries. He hit six maximums off Shamsi bowling in his stunning knock of 193 runs off 155 balls. Apart from Fakhar none of the batsmen could perform well with bat & thus Pakistan’s batting order collapsed in the run chase of 342 runs.
Fakhar Zaman got run-out in a controversial manner by De Kock in the last over of Pakistan’s innings. He missed his second double century by just seven runs. For hosts, Spectacular half-centuries from skipper Temba Bavuma, De Kock, Rassie Van der Dussen & Miller helped them to post a huge total of 341 runs.
Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan who fetched three wickets for 54 runs from his 10 overs spell. Zaman was awarded as the player of the match for his stupendous knock with the bat. South Africa registered a solid win in the second ODI against Pakistan. Currently, the three-match ODI series is tied at 1-1 with the decider match to be played on Wednesday.
