Sachin Tendulkar is the only player in the history of cricket who have scored 100 international hundreds, he thanked his fans for their “wonderful” birthday wishes while appealing them to not to go out as the country is battling against the Coronavirus Pandemic. “Thank you for all your wonderful wishes. You all have always prayed for me to stay at the pitch and not get out. My only wish for all of you is that you too don’t get out in these difficult times. #StayHome and #StayHealthy,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.
On Friday Tendulkar celebrated his 47th birthday amid the nationwide lockdown which is in place until 3rd May to control the COVID-19 Pandemic. Recently Tendulkar announced that he will be feeding 5,000 people for a month. Sachin Tendulkar like other cricketers is spending a good time at home amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic major sporting events across the globe has been canceled or postponed for a precautionary measure. The BCCI also postponed the 13th edition of the IPL league till further notice on April 16th.
In March, Sachin has donated Rs 25 lakhs each to the PM Relief Fund and the CM of Maharashtra’s Relief Fund to help in the battle against COVID-19. Sachin Tendulkar was among the 40 sportsperson with whom PM Narendra Modi had a video conference to discuss the prevailing situation on April 3.
The COVID-19 has affected almost 2.8 million people across the globe by taking the number of cases in India to more than 24,500. Currently India is under a lockdown to combat this deadly COVID-19 Pandemic.
