Sachin Tendulkar & Sourav Ganguly who were the best batsmen pair on the field have shared a special bond off the field as well. On Thursday, Sachin took to Instagram & shared a throwback picture from his visit to Ganguly’s house during their playing days. “Throwback to a fun evening spent at Dadi’s home. Relished food & warm hospitality. Hope your mother is doing well, my best wishes to her,” the legendary batsman captioned the post.
Many of you might not be knowing that Sachin Tendulkar the world’s leading run-scorer and the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly before playing for India senior team played under 15 cricket together. In an interview, Sachin revealed that the world called former India Captain Sourav Ganguly as ‘Dada’ he was the only one who called him ‘Dadi’.
The duo played together 176 ODI in Partnership throughout the course of their careers in which they scored whopping 8227 runs at an average of 47.55. Recently ICC also reminded its fans about the great Indian duo partnership of Tendulkar & Ganguly by sharing their partnership statistics.
“No other pair has ever crossed even 6000 runs together in ODIs”, the ICC tweeted on its official Twitter handle. Ganguly responded to the tweet that they could have scored another 4000 runs with the current ODI rules. Replying to Sourav Ganguly’s tweet Tendulkar tweeted “This brings back wonderful memories Dadi. How many more do you think we would’ve been able to score with the restriction of 4 fielders outside the ring and 2 new balls?”
Sachin Tendulkar & Sourav Ganguly were involved in many match-winning partnerships making them the best opening pair in ODI’s from the mid of 90’s till the early 2000’s. Currently the world is under a lockdown to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus pandemic.
