Scotland Head Coach Shane Burger has announced 14 players squad which will travel to Rotterdam to play against Netherlands in two ODIs on May 19 & May 21.
These Twin ODIs will be Scotland’s first International tour since December 2019 when they faced UAE in Dubai & will mark the start of their preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup starting in October. The 14 member team will be led by the ICC Associate Player of the Decade Kyle Coetzer with Richard Berrington named as the Vice-Captain.
Scotland has resumed their training from April after a period of a forced break during the latest lockdown. Scotland’s head Coach Burger is very pleased with the team’s performances in training. “We had a really good block of training over the last six weeks & I have been impressed by how hard everyone has worked & the energy that we have in the squad at the moment.”
“It’s such a great feeling to play cricket after such a long time. Resuming cricket after a long period without any matches it’s really important for the team to get out there & play again. They are absolutely raring to play again. It’s the start of an important six months for us & I know we would like to go out there & perform as per the expectations that we have set ourselves & also play a brand of cricket that will excite our fans”.
