Shane Watson announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Tuesday. He had a special message for the CSK fans. He was a crucial part of CSK squad who finished at seventh place in the Points Table.
Watson also bids farewell to CSK fans in a short video posted on twitter. Speaking through CSK’s Official Twitter handle Watson said, “Hello everyone, the Yellow Army! I just want to announce to everyone that this year for CSK has been my last year in playing cricket.”
Watson was very emotional in the video announcing an end to his celebrated career. “I am going to be retiring from all kinds from now. It’s a very emotional time”, he quipped. “Grateful for your love and support through the last three years. You never know what’s going to happen in the future, if I am still involved in some way,” he said.
“Hope I have given back to you all for all the support you have given me,” said Watson, who had retired from international cricket in 2016.
The all-rounder had announced his retirement news through his YouTube Channel. In his IPL career, Watson has represented RR & CSK. In UAE he has scored 299 runs from 11 matches at a strike rate of 121.05. He won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2007 & 2015. He was also awarded as the Player of the Tournament at the 2012 T20 World Cup. In total, he represented Australia in 59 Tests, 190 ODIs and 58 T20Is.
