The ‘Keep it Up’ Challenge which was started a few days back on social media is growing popular among the cricketers by each passing day. Now, Shreyas Iyer did the ‘Keep It Up’ Challenge by adding a new twist to it & thereby taking it to a next level.
Shreyas Iyer was being nominated by the Opener batsman Rohit Sharma & Shreyas shared the video after completing the “Keep It Up” Challenge on his Instagram Story. The middle-order batsman further gave his own twist to the challenge as he began by juggling a tennis ball on his bat handle. Further, he made the task difficult for himself by switching the bat positions but eventually managed to successfully juggle the ball on the front, side & back of his bat. “Thank you for the challenge Rohit bhai. I would further like to nominate Abhishek Nayar, Shardul Thakur, and Siddhesh Lad. Let’s see if you can do it better than this,” Iyer said.
With country entering the fourth phase of Coronavirus enforced lockdown several cricketers including Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar & Anil Kamble have participated in this challenge & pledged to stay at home as long as it is mandatory & follow the Government’s safety guidelines.
Yuvraj was among the first cricketer to participate in this challenge & he further nominated Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma & Harbhajan Singh. And then the chain began since then everyone is taking up this challenge & trying to make it even more interesting by giving it their own twists.
After being nominated for the challenge by ace batsman Yuvraj, the legendary batsman Tendulkar made it a point to give it Tendulkar touch by completing the challenge with a blindfold & then he challenged the left-handed batsman back.
In reply to Tendulkar’s challenge, Yuvraj Singh realized that he had challenged a “wrong legend” & he might need a week to complete this prolific task. “I knew I challenged the wrong legend! This might take a week il try,” Yuvraj left a comment on Tendulkar’s post. Former India coach Anil Kumble, in absence of a bat, completed the challenge by juggling the ball on his hand, while Ajinkya Rahane juggled a pink ball on the side of his bat.
Every cricketer is trying to give their best to complete the “Keep It Up” challenge & thereby doing their bit to encourage people to stay at home during the ongoing stringent lockdown.
