The BCCI on Thursday announced that batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the remaining two ODI against England due to the Shoulder injury he suffered during the first ODI. BCCI also said that Shreyas Iyer will leave the bio-bubble & would go for further treatment.
“Iyer has been ruled out of the remaining two ODIs & thus he will exit the bio-bubble”, the BCCI Manager said before the pre-match press conference. Shreyas is ruled out of the remaining two ODIs & the entire IPL 2021 due to his shoulder injury. But the injury couldn’t lower the batsman’s confidence.
Shreyas is very confident that he will make a solid comeback after recovering from the injury. Shreyas took to Twitter & wrote, “I have been reading all your messages & I am completely overwhelmed by all the love & support. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You know what they say? Greater the setback, the stronger the comeback. I shall be back soon”.
Shreyas Iyer has suffered from left shoulder dislocation during the 1st ODI against England at the MCA Stadium. The sources close to the developments said that Iyer was in immense pain on the ground & the results of scans had suggested that surgery is an advisable treatment for Iyer’s injury. But a final decision whether Iyer will undergo surgery or not is yet to be taken.
“The scans had suggested that Shreyas requires a surgery but further opinion has been sought from an expert in this regard & if the surgery takes place then it is likely that Shreyas will miss the entire season of the IPL 2021”, the source explained to media.
