Australian national Selection panel has added Ben McDermott, Dan Christian, Cameron Green, Ashton Turner, Wes Agar & Nathan Ellis, to Australia’s preliminary squad for the men’s white-ball tours of West Indies & Bangladesh.

According to Cricket Australia, the confirmation on Men’s tour is subject to agreement on bio-security arrangements & relevant government approvals. McDermott & Christian are currently playing in County Championship for Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire & will return to Australia from the UK this week, to complete the two weeks quarantine period before the squad departs for the West Indies tour later in June.

The NSP will announce the final touring squad in the upcoming weeks. The selection panel has already announced a 23 player extended squad last month, which also includes players from the IPL 2021 contingent.

“We are delighted to recall ben, Dan, Cameron & Ashton. And welcome Wes & Nathan in the list of players for the scheduled Australian Men’s white-ball tours of the West Indies & Bangladesh”, Hohns said in an Official Statement.

“Ben is a match-winner & powerful striker & we believe that his best cricket is still ahead of him. Whereas Dan is in his career-best form & was a vital cog of the Sydney Sixers BBL winning squad this summer. So Ben’s selection is a reward for the hard work he has put in over many years. While Cameron made his ODI debut last summer against India & the selection panel believes that he has potential in the white & red-ball cricket”, added Hohns.

“Wes & Nathan are the leading wicket-takers in the BBL’s summer season & NSP believes that they could make a genuine impact on International cricket. The six additions in the Australian preliminary squad follow discussions with players selected in the initial preliminary list for the white ball tours of West Indies & Bangladesh”, said Hohns.

Australia & West Indies are scheduled to play a limited overs series comprising of five T20Is & three ODIs in July this year.
