Star cricketer, Steve Smith in a video shared his secret batting tips with his fans. In his three minutes long video Steve Smith has elaborated on a very interesting batting technique, he highlighted on “two authentic swings that each player has”.

Steve Smith is famous for his unorthodox batting techniques, he posted a video in which he shared “some hints & tips on batting” with his followers on Instagram. The former Australian skipper in the three-minute-long video talked about the “two authentic swings that each player has”. “Batting tips is one thing which lots of people have asked me so today I will share some hints and tips on batting. This video is on what I will like to call the first authentic swing. I will share the second authentic swing in a few day’s time”, Steve Smith wrote on Instagram.

He described the two authentic swings as one which involves the use of top hand and helps in hitting the ball straight down on the ground & the other one which involves the use of bottom hand which enables the batsman to directly smack the ball.

In the video, Smith also talked about various other aspects of batting such as the importance of pointing the front foot in the direction where they want to hit the ball as it facilitates the bending of your knee and gets the head over the ball which helps to play the shot in a straight line direction.

He also said that how young kids and even some professional players “neglect to bring their foot around the straight-line direction to enable the bat to come through”. At the end of the video, he suggested some drills & exercises which aspiring batsmen should do in order to improve their feet movement & perfect their batting skills.

Steve Smith is enjoying the top position in the ICC Batsman Ranking. He advised young kids to judge the length of the ball & play the shots accordingly. He said that if it is a short length ball then it is advisable that you defend it & you can easily drive & hit the ball if it is a length ball.

At the end of the video after Smith has explained the first type of swing technique of batting to his followers he promised to come up with a video explaining the second type of swing technique in the next few days.
