SRH defeated DC by 88 runs to keep their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive. Wriddhiman Saha & Warner’s 107 run partnership helped SRH to score a target of 219/2 & their bowling attack helped to restrict DC to 131 runs to claim a crucial win against DC.
DC were second in the IPL 2020 Points Table before coming into the match now have reduced to third spot behind RCB as their Net Run Rate took a backseat after a huge defeat against SRH in yesterday’s crucial clash. SRH are now enjoying sixth spot on the Points Table by scoring 10 points off 12 games. They are above RR on Net Run Rate & just two points less than KXIP & KKR who are at 4th & 5th spot respectively.
With SRH boosting of a higher Net Run Rate than KKR, KXIP & RR the win is a major blessing for their qualifying hopes. RCB, with a 0.092 NRR are now second, as DC’s NRR slipped to 0.03. However both the teams are now tied on 14 points with table-toppers MI who have the highest NRR in the IPL 2020. Purple Cap holder Rabada went without a single wicket for the first time in 26 IPL games & stays at 23 wickets.
For SRH Rashid Khan took three wickets for just seven runs against DC & has now moved up on third spot in the race for the Purple Cap. While Mohammed Shami is behind Rabada with 20 wickets, Rashid is tied on 17 wickets with Jofra Archer & Bumrah but he has a better economy rate than the other two bowlers. Birthday Boy David Warner has scored 66 runs off 34 balls & took him up a few places to go third in the race for the Orange Cap. KXIP captain KL Rahul is leading the run-scorer’s list this IPL season by scoring 595 runs. RCB and MI will face off on Wednesday in an important top-of-the-table clash.
